Jerry the Squaddie is the heart of InkSpot Tattoo Studio, renowned for his mastery of old-school traditional tattooing. His journey began in the 1990s, when he turned a hobby into a passion by creating bold designs for friends in informal settings. This early start sparked a lifelong love for the art of tattooing.
In 2017, Jerry refined his craft under the guidance of acclaimed tattoo artist Darren Lynx. Through Darren’s mentorship, Jerry gained professional expertise in technical skills, hygiene, and the rich history of traditional tattooing.
Today, Jerry is still mentored by Darren, drawing on his guidance to stay true to the craft while evolving as an artist. Jerry continues his dedication to the craft by regularly upskilling learning new digital drawing skills and tattooing methods with various types of machines.
Training and Continuous Growth
Jerry continually hones his craft through advanced training with top instructors from Tattooing 101, including Brandon Over, Jay Haussmann, Maddox Max, and Nathan Molenaar. Inspired by world-class artists like Daniel Yuck and Ben Fisher, he blends modern techniques with traditional styles to create bold, timeless tattoos.
